About The Position

Project Scheduler is responsible for assisting the Project Managers by providing project scheduling, project controls, project tracking and financial reporting support for the PMO office. Scheduling includes work to create a WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), resource loading, cost and budget plans. Update master and subproject plans and dependencies with new information as changes occur, e.g. timelines and delays. Duties of this position also may involve project cost control work, requiring the ability to work with and understand budgets, asset coding, man hour’s performance system, and elements of overall project monitoring. Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around. Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.

Requirements

  • Must have experience supporting Telecom Industry/Projects, managing multiple Project Schedules/Projects simultaneously.
  • Organizational skills Ability to develop and interact with other business units within the company. Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Communications skills excellent verbal and written communication required. Must be able to articulate information to internal and external customers with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with peers and other groups within GCI for the benefit of our customers.
  • Analytical skills ability to analyze, problem solve situations, leading to best solutions.
  • Strong personal computer skills required including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, MS Project, or Primavera(P6); and ability to support all end users.
  • Self-motivated with the desire to continually grow and excel.
  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience in project scheduling or project construction, telecom installations or related field required. To included one year in an office environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, Accounting, and Economics, Industrial Management/Engineering or related field is required.
  • Or a combination of relevant exempt experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
  • Update master and subproject plans and dependencies with new information as changes occur

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and keeps PMO master schedule and project plans as well as sub project plans for monitoring and tracking the requirements and stays abreast of changes to the requirements.
  • Assists Project Manager in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine impact on PMO master schedule, and help in formulating actions to correct scheduling conflicts.
  • Provides information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of the project schedule.
  • Identifies and records the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. Evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates.
  • Interfaces with stakeholders to discuss impact of work and problem resolution.
  • Contributes to the development of working schedules for estimating, prior to proposal dates, which sufficiently illustrates the sequence of work activities and contract time.
