About The Position

CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Project Scheduler within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities. The Project Scheduler develops, monitors, and manages detailed project timelines, tasks, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include creating schedules using industry-standard software (like Primavera or Microsoft Project), analyzing progress, identifying risks, facilitating communication between stakeholders, and providing regular status reports to project managers and leadership. Project schedulers are crucial for maintaining project organization and coordinating all phases to achieve project goals CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission. This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Requirements

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience
  • Security Clearance: Secret
  • Project Management Software Proficiency: Expertise in scheduling tools like Primavera, Microsoft Project, and other project planning software.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and forecast potential issues to make informed decisions.
  • Organizational & Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and complex schedules effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: The capacity to foresee potential problems and develop effective solutions to keep projects on track.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule Development: Create comprehensive project schedules by breaking down tasks, defining timelines, and identifying dependencies using specialized software.
  • Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Track project progress against the schedule, analyze variances, and prepare regular reports for project managers and stakeholders to highlight potential delays or issues.
  • Risk Management: Perform critical path method (CPM) analysis to identify risks, such as resource shortages or material delays, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Resource Coordination: Work with project teams to ensure the proper allocation of labor, equipment, and materials for each project phase.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a central point of contact, facilitating communication among project managers, technical experts, and other stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned on project timelines.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to refining scheduling processes and implementing best practices within the organization's project management framework.
