Our Space division in East Aurora, NY is looking for a Project Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team! This Project Quality Engineer. As our Project Quality Engineer, you will have a measurable impact on the performance of our business by promoting the highest standards of quality and will be relied upon to act with integrity and urgency in addressing quality problems. You will plan and execute cost-effective quality processes to ensure that we meet or exceed contractual quality requirements. You will report to a Project Quality Engineer lead and work onsite in East Aurora, NY (Buffalo area). As our Project Quality Engineer, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent STEM degree.
  • 8+ years of professional work experience in Engineering or Manufacturing, 5+ years of which must be in Quality Engineering in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with statistical, spreadsheet, and database software packages

Responsibilities

  • Represent Moog to support Customer & Government (DCMA) inspections, customer audits and requirements.
  • Improve production by conducting QE studies, recommending design changes, and providing quality support to manufacturing personnel. Activities will include failure analysis, root cause and corrective action analysis, risk mitigation, material review, customer & governmental interface, audit support configuration control, and traceability.
  • Review and prepare End Item Data packs to provide to customer during either source inspections or shipment of hardware.
  • Develop Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes, and final inspection.
  • Work directly with customers and suppliers to identify root cause and corrective action.
  • Improve cost for inspection and prevent cost due to failure through statistical analysis and problem solving.
  • Driving Engineering professionals to deliver on Moog SDG strategic priorities
  • Review program and personnel assignments to ensure mission success and equitable work distribution
