The position involves the organization and administration of athletic training room procedures, including managing injuries, rehabilitation, and doctor's referrals for all athletes, in accordance with Henderson State University policy, NCAA guidelines, and NATA guidelines. The role requires maintaining a professional and clean atmosphere concerning self, facilities, and students. Additionally, the position includes coordinating, documenting, and reporting all activities related to medical care to the Athletic Insurance Coordinator, which encompasses physical exams, game coverage, on-site clinicals, appointment scheduling, rehabilitation protocols, and therapeutic modality usage. The individual will work closely with the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine to provide adequate documentation concerning all injuries and illnesses, keeping coaches and concerned parties informed of player status regarding injuries and rehabilitation. The role also involves organizing and providing treatment for all injured athletes, supervising athletic training student workers, and ensuring coverage for practice and games.
