About The Position

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. PSI supports the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), Command & Control (C2) Mission Systems (C2MS) task order focused on delivery excellence, cost/schedule fidelity, and mission outcomes. This SkillBridge role provides transitioning Service Members with real-world program and project management experience in an operational acquisition/IT environment—contributing directly to performance outcomes that drive Exceptional CPARs. We are currently seeking a transitioning Service Member (all branches/ranks welcome) with strong leadership, organization, and communication skills who can coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and risks, and drive results across Agile and/or hybrid programs supporting AFSOF customers and stakeholders. Position Type: DoD SkillBridge (Fellowship/Internship) — Full time, Temporary (Unpaid per DoD policy) Duration: 90–180 days (preferred 120– 180 days ; target dates flexible based on command approval and candidate availability) Location: Onsite/Hybrid (CONUS) Hurlburt Field/Valparaiso FL Innovation Facility

Requirements

  • Eligibility: Currently serving U.S. Service Member eligible for DoD SkillBridge (command approval ).
  • Experience: 3+ years of leadership or project/operations management experience in the military or defense environment (team lead, NCOIC/OIC, flight lead, shop chief, detachment/division staff, or equivalent).
  • Skills: Strong planning, coordination, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with project/task tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent) and MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum or hybrid delivery methods.
  • Clearance: Active T3 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military training/experience.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, CAPM, Agile (CSM/ SAFe ) or DAU/Defense Acquisition credentials (e.g., PM, T&E, Logistics, ENG, Cyber).
  • Experience with Air Force programs, AFLCMC/HN or similar C2/C4ISR portfolios.
  • Understanding of RMF/ATO processes, DoD 5000/Adaptive Acquisition Framework, test planning (DT/OT), and logistics /sustainment fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with contract structures (IDIQ, TOs), CDRLs, and EVM metrics.
  • Prior work with Jira/Confluence, Azure DevOps, SharePoint/Teams, Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day to day project coordination for C2MS workstreams (planning, stand ups, backlog/boards, sprint events, releases, and retrospectives).
  • Maintain integrated master schedules (IMS) and product roadmaps, track milestones, dependencies, and critical path .
  • Develop and manage project baselines (scope, schedule, cost), change requests, and variance analyses.
  • Facilitate communication across engineering, cyber/RMF, test, logistics , and operations teams, coordinate with government stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and deliver status reports, dashboards, and read aheads for IPTs, PMRs, and customer reviews.
  • Capture actions/decisions and drive closure with owners and due dates.
  • Build and maintain RACI, WBS, and work authorization artifacts; ensure deliverables meet quality standards and CDRL requirements.
  • Track risks, issues, and opportunities (RIO); maintain registers with mitigation/contingency plans and quantitative scoring.
  • Support cybersecurity/RMF milestones, test readiness (TRR), deployment readiness (DRB), and sustainment handoffs.
  • Assist with BOE inputs, EVM-lite metrics (CPI/SPI), burn downs, and funding profile visibility.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and deliverable acceptance against SOW/TO requirements.
  • Identify process gaps and implement simple, auditable improvements that increase on time / first time right delivery.
  • Contribute to artifacts and evidence that underpin CPARs Quality , Schedule , Management , and Small Business ratings.
