About The Position

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
  • Working knowledge of procurement, finance, and administrative techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student volunteers and interns to the program
  • Secure interpreter services for patient interactions when necessary.
  • Assist with patient phone calls prior to outings, especially with Arabic speaking families
  • Provide Arabic language services in reviewing all SHINE materials, translating into Arabic
  • Conduct one on one interviews, group outings in Arabic
  • Conduct post-outing follow up with Arabic speaking families.
  • Administer surveys during outings and assist in data entry, data analysis, and preparation of reports
  • Attend monthly nature interventions on the 1st Saturday of each month.
  • Assist project director in serve as the liaison with outdoor agencies and park districts, coordinating transportation, food, supplies, and site logistics, such as securing reservations and managing liability insurance for each outing.
