About The Position

UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to serve as an expert resource, to convey complex technical and financial information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document personnel matters and performance, and contribute to decision-making on personnel matters.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of healthcare decision support concepts, systems, policies, and practices, as well as clinical finance terminology and principles, business statistics, quantitative methods, queries and SQL business development scorecards, data modeling, and performance and profitability analysis.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and persuasiveness, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse clinical, business, technical, and financial personnel at all professional levels.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management on operational and policy issues, with the skills to gather data, and report on department functions, operations, performance, and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise, coordinate, and prioritize the activities of subordinate staff, and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with the decision support system.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.

Responsibilities

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet those goals.
  • Provides direction, sets priorities, and analyzes workflow for subordinate decision support staff, according to established policies and management guidance.
  • Provides senior management with input on personnel matters and recommendations for changes to department policies and practices.
