About The Position

This role is ideal for an engineer early in their career (2–5 years) who is passionate about supporting complex, mission-critical infrastructure projects—especially large-scale data centers and secure facilities. As a Project Planning & Commissioning Engineer, you will support early planning, coordination, and commissioning activities that bring high-performance electrical, mechanical, and control systems online safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is an onsite, hands-on position based at the Tysons Corner headquarters, working closely with design, construction, and commissioning teams across multiple disciplines.

Requirements

  • Experience or coursework in: Power distribution systems (UPS, ATS, generators, switchgear) Building automation and mechanical systems Commissioning tools, test scripts, SOPs/MOPs, and checklists System testing, field troubleshooting, and system readiness verification
  • Project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6
  • Data analysis, forecasting, or project controls experience
  • Ability to support resource planning, scheduling, and material tracking
  • Strong skills with Excel, Power BI, or other reporting tools
  • Curious, hands-on problem solver comfortable in dynamic field environments
  • Strong communicator able to collaborate across diverse teams
  • Highly detail-oriented with disciplined documentation habits
  • Flexible and willing to travel to active project sites
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing cost models, manpower forecasts, and material tracking systems.
  • Support alignment of schedules and expectations across engineering, construction, and commissioning stakeholders.
  • Help plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities.
  • Support system readiness checks, testing procedures, SOPs/MOPs, and turnover documentation.
  • Use tools such as Excel or Power BI to analyze project schedules, commissioning data, and test outcomes.
  • Provide insights to improve efficiency, sequencing, and operational readiness.
  • Work with design engineers, construction teams, field technicians, and operations personnel.
  • Support troubleshooting and ensure seamless system integration during commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for commissioning test results and safety compliance.
  • Prepare reports, checklists, and closeout packages.
