About The Position

Dewberry has an exciting opportunity for a Project Permitter for the Real Estate and Commercial Development Team based out of our Danville, VA or Richmond, VA office. The applicant can be a remote worker. The role will focus on engaging authorities having jurisdiction over development projects to coordinate and lead permitting efforts required for design and construction. The successful candidate will have administrative, technical, project/program management, and client facing responsibilities to manage project timelines and coordinate critical permitting requirements for local jurisdictions. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required if relevant working experience aligns with the position.
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with local and geographically dispersed teams of professionals to meet local jurisdictional development permitting requirements.
  • Manage schedules, permit fees and deliverable execution to ensure permitting requirements are met for a large volume of projects.
  • Experience in the commercial development, civil engineering or related field, managing schedules and deliverables is desired, however not required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple project assignments concurrently.
  • Ability to work and interact with clients, maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
  • Strong program management skills utilizing schedule software, as well as Microsoft Office programs.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel for planning, zoning, and council meetings.
