About The Position

CME Associates is currently seeking for a Project Operations Analyst to join their team of professionals in our Business Operations Department. The Project Operations Analyst is a critical member of the Business Operations team, responsible for driving project excellence by partnering with Project Managers (PMs) and senior leadership. This role ensures that project reviews are conducted regularly and effectively, focusing on schedule adherence, forecasting accuracy, compliance, and operational insights. The Analyst will also play a key role in educating and enabling PMs to interpret and act on project data to drive performance and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree, preferably in Engineering, Environmental Science, Surveying, Construction Management, or other relevant job experience equivalent to these.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project operations, financial analysis, or engineering consulting industry

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cost estimation techniques and software.
  • High competency in KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for tracking project progress.
  • Proficient in Excel, project management systems (e.g., Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint), and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams for team communication and updates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Monthly Project Reviews.
  • Facilitate structured project review meetings with PMs and senior leaders, ensuring clear communication of schedule status, financial forecasts, risks, and required actions.
  • Analyze and Forecast Project Performance
  • Develop and maintain tools for forecasting project progress, revenue, and margin performance; highlight variances and trends across the project portfolio.
  • Compliance and Controls
  • Monitor and highlight data compliance with internal project setup, phase tracking, timecard submissions, and end-date management.
  • PM Enablement and Training
  • Highlight training opportunities for PMs and work with SVPs and VP of Business Operations to facilitate training when applicable.
  • Data Interpretation and Insights
  • Translate complex project data into executive-level insights, project level insights, and summaries that drive decision-making and accountability.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify gaps in project execution or reporting and collaborate with Operations and Finance to refine tools, templates, and standard processes.
