Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of projects within a capital equipment manufacturing organization in Portland, OR. The role involves managing projects from order receipt through various stages including design, planning, procurement, and installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong project management background, be organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, making key decisions that impact project profitability.

  • Manage projects of varying size from receipt of order through design, planning, procurement, fabrication testing, shipment, installation, and start-up.
  • Prepare accurate project quotes, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company objectives.
  • Interface with customers to execute projects managing consideration of customer needs, internal/external production capabilities, financial targets, and available resources.
  • Perform liaison work involved by contacting other departments (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Sales, etc.) as well as outside vendors, to obtain services or pertinent information relative to functional needs.
  • Determine make versus buy decisions for various items of a project based on customer requirements and company strategy.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support testing activities when necessary.
  • Continuously seek to build understanding of products and industries and convert those into standards, training, and sales support literature.
  • Support strategic company initiatives in areas such as Lean as requested.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a college or university in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience including manufacturing quoting and project management.
  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Proficiency in estimating and quoting in the manufacturing space.
  • Demonstrated understanding of machining, fabrication, and mechanical processes.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and solid interpersonal communication skills.
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with customers.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Associate's degree with significant relevant experience is also acceptable.
  • Experience in manufacturing estimating (3 years preferred).
