About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings seeks a Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating construction. The selected candidate will assist with a portfolio of capital design or construction projects throughout the five boroughs. The Project Manager will be assigned projects at various stages of design and construction, and will be the key contact throughout the scoping, design, and construction procurement phase. The Project Manager will utilize the agency's technical resources to ensure that their projects meet DDC's Commitment Plan objectives and follow up on completion schedules. The Project Manager will also apprise Sr. Project Managers of scheduling, construction, and design issues; keep costs within budget; liaise between contractors, DDC and sponsor agencies; maintain comprehensive project history files; coordinate project schedules; review projects; address construction and design issues; prepare change orders, project correspondence, and reports.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor or a Master of Architecture degree that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in architecture that is the first four years of a five-year first professional degree program in architecture from an accredited college and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in architectural work.
  • A valid New York State Registration as an Architect.

Responsibilities
