About The Position

The New York Times Magazine is seeking an experienced project manager to ensure that our journalism projects are completed successfully and on deadline. This role requires a keen ability to marshal key stakeholders around projects on both long and short lead times. The senior project manager will work closely with top editors, story editors, designers, photo editors, research editors, copy editors, production editors, and digital designers and developers to plan, create, and produce the magazine’s digital enterprise. You will be the primary point of contact for everyone involved with closing the 10-20 digital articles that the magazine produces each week. You will know the editorial process forwards and backwards, checking in with each story editor to understand what stories are in the pipeline and working with the editorial director to program the lineup of stories that publish online each week, prioritizing timely, well-balanced, and exciting coverage. Additionally, you will help track certain special projects that often have complicated digital builds and print presentations requiring coordination between teams across disciplines. This is a hybrid position based in New York City, requiring regular attendance in the office each week per departmental guidance.
