About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for managing or supporting the management of transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and/or information technology projects. This role involves overseeing cross-functional teams and ensuring the project's scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance are maintained. The Project Manager will lead or support project teams through the business case and capital approval process, development and execution of project plans, and project closeout. Projects typically have budgets ranging from $250K to $5 million, and the position may require extended hours during storms or energy delivery emergencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 2 - 4 years relevant project management experience, or High School Diploma and 3 - 6 years of relevant experience.
  • For non-construction project management: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field and 2 - 4 years relevant project management experience, or High School Diploma and 3 - 6 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and establish trust.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team leader in a multi-task environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong judgment and time management skills.
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and access to an automobile.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or knowledge in utility design/planning/construction or Information Technology.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Understanding of job budgeting, costing, and performance metrics reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support overall project and program performance for various projects including transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and information technology.
  • Manage project costs, schedule, scope, and risks, including developing recovery plans.
  • Interface with external and internal stakeholders to coordinate project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with project sponsors and key stakeholders on project issues.
  • Coach and lead team members to ensure understanding of responsibilities and task completion.
  • Identify and obtain project team resources with assistance from the Manager, Project Management.
  • Ensure completion of business cases, budgetary approvals, project scheduling, and reporting.
