About The Position

Artic Peak relentless pursues the very highest standards of D/B/B, D/B construction, safety, project management and business operations. Artic Peak (An AKIMA Company) is seeking Construction Project Manager across the southeastern region of the US to join our team to provide leadership and management over our current and future construction/renovation contracts. The PM manages a team of professionals that comprise the Project Management Office, including a Safety Manager, Scheduler, Estimator, Project Specialist, and Site Superintendent. Our goal for every project is simple: deliver the highest quality, lowest cost and longest lasting value for each of our customers. We are looking for individuals experienced in Construction Management specific to Federal construction projects. This is a hybrid remote position working from your home office, or out of our Herdon, Virginia office when not on the project site.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Minimum 8 years of experience managing construction projects, 5 years of which must be Federal construction projects and/or job order contracts.
• Thorough working knowledge of Federal contracts and safety standards is essential.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Able to communicate clearly and concisely via email and keep up with steady email exchange with the clients daily.
• Must be able to keep track of status of between 5-10 active projects.
• Must be able to read, speak, understand and write English.
• Strong working understanding of MEP construction, and commercial facility utility services.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred BA / BS degree in Construction / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a PMP certification with equivalent work experience may be considered if approved by Client.

Responsibilities

• Ensure multiple, concurrent, multi-discipline construction job orders are executed within customer project deadlines and budgets.
• Manage a team of professionals that comprise the Project Management team, including a Safety Manager, Scheduler, Estimator, Project Specialist, Procurement Manager and Site Superintendent.
• Responsible for successful execution of all phases of work from project identification and capture, to estimating and scheduling, to safely executing construction activities.
• Attend all final job walks and provide marked up and as-built drawings at the end of each project.
• Manage multiple projects, cost management and timely execution of work in accordance with job order budgets and agreed upon delivery schedules.
• Identify sub-contracted trades to support the delivery of services, identifying and delineating scope of work for subcontract purchase orders and delivery.
• Ensure new work is appropriately scoped, estimated, and a resource loaded schedule prepared for customer review and approval.
• Enforce adherence to the project schedule throughout the phases of construction, maintaining collaboration with the Designer of Record (DOR) and trades.
• Track, document and report all changes as they occur.
• Participate in the Post Award Kick-Off, Partnering, Pre-construction, Design Development, and Coordination meetings during the conceptual and preconstruction phase of a project.
• Work with construction superintendent and design teams to successfully submit, track, maintain and execute project submittals, RFI's and change order documentation.
• Ensure the management team provides and maintains both the short-term and long-term schedules and the overall Integrated Resource Loaded Master Schedule.
• Responsible for safe execution of the work at multiple locations.
• Ensure quality delivery determines follow on work, responsible for quality assurance.
• Develop and maintain customer relationships and evolve the team's credibility to attract and capture new work.
