Requirements

  • 4+ years of project management experience in civil construction (site development, underground utilities, or public works)
  • Proven success managing self-perform civil projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and financial performance
  • Strong financial acumen with experience forecasting and managing project profitability
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6, Bluebeam, HCSS, Procore/Prolog, or similar
  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Sense of urgency in problem-solving and decision-making
  • High level of organization, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Confident, professional, and proactive communicator

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of project delivery, including planning, execution, tracking, and closeout
  • Maintain full ownership of project schedules, budgets, forecasting, and overall performance
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change management, and billing
  • Coach, motivate, and develop superintendents, engineers, and field teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and teamwork
  • Coordinate closely with field leadership to ensure seamless operations and production flow
  • Manage project financials with full profit-and-loss responsibility
  • Forecast profitability and ensure projects meet or exceed budget expectations
  • Identify risks early, implement corrective actions, and proactively solve problems
  • Represent Petticoat-Schmitt with integrity and professionalism
  • Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, inspectors, and subcontractors
  • Protect company interests through clear communication and proactive issue resolution
