About The Position

PROJECT MANAGER, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, to support our multidisciplinary team in high impact science, with a passion for human genomics and its impact on health; be responsible for coordinating the daily execution of specific research projects within the group; ensure that scientific teams meet deliverables on time, collaborators are aligned, and grant/reporting requirements are met; work closely with the Senior Project Manager, project teams, and collaborators at MIT and other institutions to ensure successful execution of the research projects. This position is open to work at MIT and the Broad Institute under the supervision of Prof. Manolis Kellis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • a minimum of three years of administrative experience
  • ability to learn new things quickly and self-motivated
  • excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a professional demeanor that promotes collaboration and cooperation
  • ability to make decisions and act independently while keeping principal investigator and team members informed
  • ablility to work effectively and productively, in a team-based environment, across all levels of faculty, staff, industry representatives, external project stakeholders, government officials and others
  • impeccable verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues and translate them into concrete action plans
  • ability to exercise discretion in all communications
  • highly responsive, organized, detail-oriented, and ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing and time-sensitive environment
  • experience with basic cloud-based collaborative tools including Google docs, Dropbox, Gmail, Shared Calendars, and smart phone apps including Slack
  • Required to be available to work evenings and weekends for grant deadlines and available 7-9 AM ET weekdays during the summer
