About The Position

Golden Queen Mining Company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver capital and operational projects supporting mine infrastructure and heap leach operations. This role is responsible for managing projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. This is a safety sensitive position. As the Project Manager you report to Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–8+ years of project management in mining, heavy civil, or industrial construction
  • Experience with heap leach systems, crushing, refinery plants, earthworks, or mine infrastructure
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and environmental compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools
  • Experience in surface mining and heap leach operations
  • PMP certification
  • Background in civil, mining, or construction engineering
  • Experience managing multiple projects and contractor QA/QC

Responsibilities

  • Manage full project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout
  • Develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • The position plays a key role in driving operational excellence by promoting continuous improvement, process efficiency, and high-performance execution across all project activities
  • Track progress, risks, costs, and timelines
  • Support commissioning, startup, and system integration
  • Oversee heap leach pad construction and plant expansions
  • Coordinate earthworks, liner systems, piping, ponds, and drainage systems
  • Ensure QA/QC for civil, geotechnical, and containment work
  • Manage contractor performance and field execution
  • Mitigate risks related to stability, drainage, and system integrity
  • Enforce strong safety culture and MSHA/OSHA compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all state and Federal environmental permits and engineering standards
  • Facilitate adoption of new processes and technologies through structured change management strategies.
  • Conduct hazard analysis and coordinate inspections and permits
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and capital plans
  • Review invoices, change orders, and procurement activities
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and safety
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and procurement activities
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, environmental, and safety teams
  • Lead meetings, provide updates, and resolve field issues
  • Maintain project documentation, QA/QC records, and closeout packages
  • Provide regular progress reports and capture lessons learned
