Job summary: The Project Manager will focus on and oversee activities related to the development of new products in support of the Strategic Initiatives, New Product Development and Business Technology Roadmap. Has ownership for project customer product specifications. As such, this position will solicit required functional support for projects; utilizing leadership, business acumen, and project management skills to guide the direction of cross functional project teams in order to expedite the launch of new and differentiated products/technology into the market, managing projects of larger scope through the use of a staged development process. Ensures process is followed and deliverables are completed to quality standards. Specific Responsibility: • Serves as project leader, ensuring availability of resources to follow through on existing and initiation of new projects. Develops project plans, utilizing project mgmt best practices to deliver project goals within schedule, budget & scope • Establishes cross-functional team & maintains effective relationships with team members, customers & gains their trust & respect. Ensures deliverables meet product specifications or else re-negotiates/escalates need to change customer requirements with internal & external stake holders. • Develops project management plan with scope, objectives, Project GANTT chart, financial excel plan, risk management plan, product specifications, IP validation, SC requirements, Mfg capability assessment, communications plans & executed non-disclosure agreements. • Tracks actual progress to plan. Keeps plan up to date as project progresses. Keeps team updated on completion status of their project deliverables in timely manner. Escalates issues and communicates when schedule or budget do not align with plan. Identifies potential roadblocks and solicits input in overcoming barriers • Drives an environment of continuous improvement among project team members; Solicits input, compiles and communicates project lessons learned; Protects GT IP by executing appropriate agreements with customers, suppliers or partners and maintains an awareness of IP throughout the functional groups. • Visits customers and attends industry forums to gain clarity and market intelligences to support expeditious launch of new products.
