What We Need: We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex interior construction projects from kickoff through closeout. This role requires strong client-facing leadership, the ability to manage schedules, budgets, contracts, and project documentation, and close collaboration with superintendents, project engineers, and trade partners. The ideal candidate can confidently lead meetings, drive clear communication, enforce deadlines, and maintain strong financial control while anticipating and managing project risk. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for owners and architects, mentor project engineers, and ensure projects are executed with consistency, quality, and accountability. Success in this role requires strong organizational and technical skills, sound judgment, and a people-centered leadership style that supports both project outcomes and long-term client relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing complex, high-value corporate interior projects
  • Proficient in building project schedules, developing scope sheets, reviewing contracts, managing financials, and assessing project risk
  • Strong skills in client retention, relationship management, and team building
  • High level of engagement with an empathetic, people-centered approach to leadership and management
  • Strong relationship-building and client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to lead meetings (OACs, kickoff, coordination sessions)
  • Ability to manage financial master and understand project financial structure
  • Full understanding of pencil draw and pay application processes
  • Memorize and internalize the critical details on a project
  • Strong construction drawings and document literacy
  • Understanding of construction processes, permitting, and buyout workflows
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships
  • Develop & maintain good relationships with architects, owners, owner reps, etc. on projects
  • Train PEs with support from PX
  • Communication: proactive outreach to project partners (especially phone/verbal), followed by email documentation
  • Build new relationships within the industry and be aware of new opportunities
  • Participate in extracurricular industry activities and organizations
  • Kickoff: discuss where to give and where to set boundaries with Team Lead
  • Participate in kickoff meeting
  • Set weekly check-in with superintendent prior to setting OAC agendas, then review with Team Lead
  • Lead OAC meetings; delegate agenda and minutes to PE and review
  • Closeout: review where concessions were made, participate in lessons-learned / project debrief
  • Review Prime Contract with Team Lead
  • Send accounting questionnaire and ensure delivery to Accounting
  • Subcontractor awards & buyouts – final approval of subcontractor list and values from Team Lead
  • Create scope documents / Exhibit A for all Work Orders
  • Create SOV and have final version approved by Team Lead after buyout
  • Manage financial master, delegating some data entry to PEs
  • Pencil draw creation & submission to owner
  • Set hard deadlines with trade partners for CO/claims approval each month
  • Set hard deadlines with trade partners for pencil values each month
  • Manage Claims with oversight from Team Lead
  • Final financial reconciliation – PM sends final documentation (PE may draft); supported by Team Lead
  • Manage permit process with some delegation to PE
  • Create Schedule with Superintendent – in-person required
  • Manage RFI process – may delegate drafting, but PM reviews and submits; confirm with trade partner and superintendent before submission
  • Review submittal process for PEs
  • Facilitate punch list
  • Drawing and construction document review – ensure folders are set up properly with clean, up-to-date templates, Project Guide, proper file structures, and naming conventions (may delegate to PE, but PM reviews)
