About The Position

ASSYST is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in managing complex IT and software development projects. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of project management experience and a proven ability to independently plan, manage and deliver large-scale projects across enterprise environments. This role requires a highly organized professional who can oversee project planning, budgeting, execution and documentation while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders and drive projects through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required and proof of certification may be requested. Job Title: Project Manager Location: Austin, TX( 2 days remote with 3 days (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) required to be onsite) Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of project management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Required)
  • Proven experience managing large-scale implementations across enterprise organizations
  • Strong experience managing multi-million dollar IT and software projects
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
  • Experience developing project plans and managing project risks and issues
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to research, gather, assemble and analyze information to develop effective solutions
  • Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced environments
  • Experience implementing and managing projects using Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of assigned projects.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, deliverables and resource allocation.
  • Identify and document project risks, issues and contingency plans.
  • Conduct regular project team meetings and provide weekly project status updates.
  • Appropriately summarize and escalate project issues when necessary.
  • Ensure business requirements are translated into clear technical specifications.
  • Oversee the development of SDLC artifacts and facilitate the SDLC process.
  • Track project progress and ensure project assignments align with defined timelines.
  • Manage Agile projects using feature-driven sprints.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
  • Lead and drive multi-million dollar software and IT projects across large organizations.
