About The Position

The Project Manager will lead multi-phase modernization and process improvement projects for public-sector and regulated clients. You will own delivery for projects that include systems implementation, process redesign, data/information governance, and vendor integration. Typical projects involve coordinating IT teams, business stakeholders, third-party vendors, and compliance owners to design, build, test, and deploy solutions that meet operational and regulatory requirements. Candidates should be comfortable producing detailed project plans, audit-ready documentation, and executive briefings, and be able to navigate procurement and governance processes common to state and federal work.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience managing multiple projects within large organizations.
  • 6–10+ years of project management experience delivering complex, multi-phase projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and driving accountability in structured environments.
  • Strong background in risk management, schedule development, budgeting, and performance reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, SharePoint, or similar.
  • 8+ years mapping business processes, identifying improvements, and facilitating meetings.
  • 8+ years developing and maintaining strong relationships with sponsors, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • PMP certification is required.
  • Must be local to the Austin area and able to work onsite.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with state or federal agencies, especially projects involving compliance, data governance, public health, regulatory operations, or system modernization.
  • Experience supporting procurement processes, vendor coordination, or government project governance frameworks.
  • Ability to prepare detailed briefing materials, decision documents, and executive-level status updates.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of assigned projects, including scope definition, detailed planning, execution oversight, and project close-out.
  • Create and maintain project artifacts such as project plans, schedules, risk registers, status reports, change requests, and communication plans.
  • Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder reviews, and working sessions with business and technical teams.
  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies; provide clear mitigation strategies and escalation paths.
  • Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Ensure deliverables meet organizational, compliance, and audit standards, particularly for agencies requiring structured documentation.
  • Partner closely with leadership, subject-matter experts, and external partners to gather requirements and maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide clear, concise updates and briefing materials for senior leadership and decision-makers.
  • Support process mapping, workflow analysis, and implementation of operational improvements when required.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams to maximize success across multiple initiatives.
