About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Project Manager to join our Places team. You will be joining a talented team of professionals that focus on delivering outstanding client service, helping them program, plan, and deliver their capital projects using various delivery methods. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support public and private sector projects in DC/MD/VA Metro Area. The position may deal with facility Infrastructure and Capital Improvements, Construction Modernization, Expansion and Renovations, Equipment and System Replacement, and other high value facility maintenance and repair projects. The work schedule for this position fluctuates based upon the needs of projects which will require the ability to work on a flexible schedule, that may include early morning, night or on occasion weekend activities. Travel to local facilities may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience

Nice To Haves

  • 7 or more years of experience with an architectural, construction management, or facilities team, public works experience a plus
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment and be capable of anticipating, analyzing, appraising, evaluating, and resolving problems of a difficult procedural, organizational, administrative or technical nature.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality projects on time and within budget as a necessity.
  • Be organized, deliberate and thorough, with the ability to relate complex processes and concept

Responsibilities

  • Ability to oversee several projects at the same time.
  • Provide proactive planning and project management to assist project teams and ensure project coordination among all parties and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a project from planning through construction including initial planning, design management, contract review, construction procurement, construction management, and close-out.
  • Manage project procurement activities. Coordinate and obtain all necessary regulatory permits.
  • Manages/Coordinate design professionals, general contractors, and construction manager partners and oversee their work.
  • Develops and adheres to the budget, timeline, and quality control plan.
  • Manages both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime.
  • Contribute to culture of health and safety on the projects.
  • Has ability to perform project inspection, on site, verifying that necessary inspections and testing are performed and documented.
  • Hold project meetings as required and disseminate information and action items.
  • Monitors contractor progress against baseline schedule. Primavera P6 experience is a plus.
  • Reviews of contractors change order requests.
  • Review and approve contractor pay applications.
  • Manages project turnover documents and project closeout.
  • Ability to interpret and understand construction documentation including plans, specifications, contracts, and related addenda.
