About The Position

Railroad Track Project Manager (Multi-Site Operations) Location: Spartanburg, SC Lead multi-site railroad operations with a growing national company. Road & Rail Services is hiring a Project Manager to oversee railroad track maintenance, track construction, and rail infrastructure projects across multiple locations. This is a field-driven leadership role where you will manage crews, drive operational performance, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced rail professional ready to take ownership of multi-location operations and team leadership. You will lead railroad operations across multiple sites, overseeing railroad track maintenance and track construction projects in active rail environments. You'll be responsible for coordinating field teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring compliance with all FRA regulations and safety standards. You will manage field supervisors and crews, maintain project schedules, and ensure operational and financial performance meets expectations. You will also monitor budgets and maintain accountability for P&L performance across assigned locations. You will conduct site visits, safety audits, and operational reviews while building strong relationships with customers and internal leadership. You will investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across all locations. You will also support hiring, training, and development of field leadership while improving processes related to safety, compliance, and productivity.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in railroad operations, railroad track maintenance, track construction, or heavy industrial environments
  • Experience managing multiple locations and field crews
  • Strong leadership experience in outdoor, labor-intensive environments
  • Proven ability to manage safety, operations, and financial performance simultaneously
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel regularly
  • Ability to work outdoors in active railroad environments
  • Ability to wear required PPE

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with P&L responsibility
  • Background in railroad track construction or rail infrastructure
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
