A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT MANAGER As a Project Manager, you play a critical role in helping us successfully manage all phases of our construction projects. From initial estimating, planning, and through completion, you protect and promote the company's interest in all matters. You supervise the field construction of assigned projects to complete the work on schedule, within budget and to the quality of workmanship specified. Anticipating project needs and deliverables, you partner with team members throughout the company - superintendents, foreman, field employees, dispatch, and administration - clients, and subcontractors to accomplish your project goals. With attention to detail, you estimate construction projects using Bid2Win software, performing quantity takeoffs, and managing subcontractor and supplier quotes. You execute your project by providing horizontal and vertical layouts, managing the coordination with vendors and subcontractors, assigning individual responsibilities and allocating resources, and enforcing project standards and safety. Applying Lawrence-Lynch's methodology to the work plan and strong time management skills, you utilize your knowledge of civil engineering infrastructure projects, including paving, concrete, water sewer, grading, drainage and other utilities. Requirements

  • A High School diploma and 5 years of construction field operations experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of highways and roads, site work, or other related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering infrastructure projects, including paving, concrete, water, sewer, grading, drainage, and other utilities
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to delegate work.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to successfully pass a CORI background check is required for certain projects.
  • Have or be able to obtain OSHA 10 certification, first aid/CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or a related field AND prior experience with MassDOT projects are strongly preferred but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
  • Experience with estimating software such as Bid2Win is also desirable.
  • Competent person, excavation, trenching, first aid/CPR, and fall protection certifications are also preferred but not necessarily required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organized and attentive to detail
  • Effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working where continuous improvement is expected
