About The Position

The Project Manager will play a critical role in the coordination and execution of a newly funded NIH/NCI R01 randomized controlled trial focused on cancer survivorship (1R01CA303651; Miller/Freyer MPIs). This position will report directly to the PIs and collaborate with multi-site study personnel, clinical teams, and faculty investigators to ensure all project deliverables and study milestones are met on time and within scope. The position will supervise staff members to implement day-to-day study operations, including participant recruitment and retention, data collection and management, regulatory compliance, and coordination of site activities across the multi-site trial.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in academic or clinical research, preferably in oncology or cancer survivorship.
  • Proficiency in REDCap and experience with recruitment of cancer patients and survivors required.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent English writing and speaking abilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated interest in cancer research and survivorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or comparable project management training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day study operations, including participant recruitment, data collection, and adherence to study protocols.
  • Coordinate and monitor clinical visits and assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity.
  • Supervise at least two research coordinators, providing training and performance oversight.
  • Manage data systems, including REDCap, and generate reports to support progress tracking and NIH reporting.
  • Facilitate communication among study sites, investigators, and NIH program staff.
  • Support IRB submissions, renewals, and other regulatory documentation.
  • Contribute to problem-solving and process improvement to enhance study efficiency and quality.
