Project Manager

Improvix TechnologiesWashington, DC
Onsite

About The Position

Are you a Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of technology and mission-critical impact? Improvix Technologies is looking for a dynamic leader to drive application development projects that directly support Improvix’s federal customer. You’ll own the delivery lifecycle from concept to deployment, championing Agile practices across cross-functional teams building the software solutions that power critical government operations. This isn’t a role where you simply track timelines—you’ll shape how we build, collaborate, and ship software in a high-stakes, security-conscious environment. If you’re energized by solving complex problems, leading talented engineers, and delivering real results, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain one prior to start).
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a strong focus on application development and software delivery.
  • Proven track record leading Agile/Scrum teams—you know how to run a sprint, groom a backlog, and ship working software iteratively.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development frameworks.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams of developers, QA engineers, and UX/UI designers.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills—comfortable presenting to both technical teams and senior leadership.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to work onsite at the federal customer site in Washington, D.C. 5 days per week.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, CSM (Certified ScrumMaster), or SAFe certification.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Background in federal IT projects or DoD/civilian agency environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead application development projects end-to-end—from requirements gathering and sprint planning through release and post-deployment support.
  • Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming, keeping teams focused and velocity high.
  • Partner with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to define scope, prioritize features, and translate mission needs into actionable user stories.
  • Build and maintain project roadmaps, release plans, and risk registers that keep leadership informed and teams aligned.
  • Remove blockers and foster a collaborative, high-trust environment where developers and designers do their best work.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to deliver on time and within scope.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet federal security requirements, including compliance standards tied to Secret-level systems.
  • Champion continuous improvement—identify process bottlenecks, implement DevOps best practices, and push for faster, more reliable delivery pipelines.

Benefits

  • 401K matching
  • life insurance
  • up to four weeks of paid annual leave
  • transit and training compensation
  • health, dental and vision benefits
