Requirements

  • Knowledge of metal materials, fabrication processes, and industry standards
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software
  • Ability to manage all phases of project life cycle, from concept to completion
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, health and safety regulations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project supervision and client meetings
  • Experience with contract management and vendor negotiations
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Lean principles and practices in manufacturing is a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage metal fabrication projects from award through completion, supporting coordination between estimating, detailing, the shop, and the field
  • Coordinate project drawings, details, and submittals; track approvals, revisions, and document flow throughout the job
  • Serve as the day‑to‑day point of contact for clients, helping manage scope, expectations, and ongoing communication
  • Support project setup and tracking, including schedules, budgets, and job documentation
  • Coordinate closely with the shop to align fabrication priorities, material availability, and delivery schedules
  • Assist with material, fastener, and miscellaneous steel procurement to support fabrication and field needs
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure clear scope, timing, and job requirements
  • Track project costs and support estimating follow‑up, change tracking, and job closeout activities
  • Support field coordination, including occasional local site visits and field measuring.
  • Ensure work aligns with Stewart Iron Works quality standards, safety practices, and applicable codes
