About The Position

We are looking for a Project Manager to independently oversee commercial construction projects in the Richmond, Virginia area. This role requires a self-sufficient professional who can manage projects from pre-construction through completion with minimal oversight. The position is best suited for someone with a general contractor background who is comfortable coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Requirements

5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
Prior experience working for a general contractor required
Ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and project budgets
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software

Responsibilities

Manage commercial construction projects from pre-construction planning through final completion
Independently oversee project schedules, budgets, and subcontractor coordination
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure accurate project execution
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to maintain project progress and quality
Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Monitor project costs, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to maintain profitability
Communicate with clients, field leadership, and internal stakeholders regarding project status
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards
Support procurement, scheduling, and coordination of materials and subcontractor services
