About The Position

While this position is not currently open, we are always looking for top talent in this field to join our network for upcoming contract awards and future growth. Digital Infuzion’s Project Managers help translate mission-driven clinical research objectives into executable plans—aligning cross-functional teams across clinical, technical, and operational domains. This role supports federal research clients by driving scope, schedule, and resource coordination while maintaining a clear line of sight to compliance, quality, and stakeholder expectations. You’ll be a key connector between customer priorities and delivery teams, helping ensure solutions and research support services move forward predictably and transparently. Candidates with clinical research exposure—and especially NIH familiarity—tend to ramp quickly and add immediate value.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting clinical research and/or clinical research informatics environments (e.g., clinical trials, observational studies, research operations, clinical data systems).
  • 3+ years of project management experience delivering projects involving cross-functional teams (clinical + technical/IT + operations preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, schedule, and risks using structured PM practices (PMI/PMBOK-informed or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting federal government clients and working within contract-driven delivery expectations (e.g., performance requirements, deliverable tracking).
  • Exposure to resource planning/forecasting (e.g., staffing plans, capacity tracking, hiring/onboarding coordination).
  • Familiarity with clinical research regulations and quality expectations (e.g., GCP awareness, documentation discipline; 21 CFR Part 11 familiarity is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce crisp status updates, meeting notes, and stakeholder-ready summaries.
  • Demonstrated follow-through, comfort with accountability, and willingness to raise risks early, aligned to Radical Candor and Outcomes First.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, health sciences, information systems, computer science) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • NIH experience is a strong plus (direct NIH support, NIH-funded research, or NIH-aligned clinical research environments).
  • PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent PM certification; experience supporting CPFF/FFP/T&M federal contracts; familiarity with software delivery lifecycles (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall).

Responsibilities

  • Manage project planning and execution for clinical research and/or clinical research IT initiatives, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Support delivery of contract workstreams by coordinating team activities, tracking deliverables, and maintaining integrated project schedules.
  • Facilitate routine project ceremonies (kickoffs, standups, status reviews, risk/issue reviews) and document decisions, actions, and outcomes.
  • Track and communicate project performance (cost, schedule, risks, issues, dependencies) using clear dashboards and status reports tailored to federal stakeholders.
  • Partner with functional leads to support resource forecasting (labor planning, onboarding timing, coverage planning) and anticipate capacity constraints.
  • Monitor and manage project risks/issues, drive mitigations, and escalate with clarity and recommended actions.
  • Coordinate project documentation and process adherence, supporting audit readiness and delivery consistency where applicable.
  • Support stakeholder management across technical teams, clinical SMEs, subcontractors, and customer representatives.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of PM processes, templates, and governance practices.
  • Provide light business development support such as contributing to proposal inputs (e.g., staffing plans, schedules, risk assumptions, past performance narratives) and participating in capture/delivery handoffs.
