About The Position

Project Manager – Healthcare Construction Los Angeles, CA Do you speak healthcare construction? We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven background in hospital and healthcare construction throughout the Los Angeles market. This role requires deep understanding of complex, phased projects within active healthcare environments and strong familiarity with California’s HCAI (formerly OSHPD) regulations. The ideal candidate thrives in technically demanding environments, understands infection control and ICRA protocols, and can manage high-profile healthcare clients while maintaining strict schedule and budget performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–10+ years of experience managing healthcare construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with: HCAI / OSHPD projects Acute care hospitals Surgical centers Medical office buildings (MOBs)
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in cost control and forecasting.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, scheduling software (P6 or MS Project).
  • Strong understanding of infection control and phased construction in occupied facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing projects in the $15M–$150M+ range preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ground-up and renovation healthcare construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Lead projects in active hospital environments while ensuring patient safety and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Coordinate closely with field operations to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting to ensure financial health of the project.
  • Maintain direct relationships with healthcare clients, facilities teams, architects, and consultants.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure compliance with HCAI (formerly OSHPD), California building codes, Title 24, and all local/state/federal regulations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules; proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Implement and monitor ICRA, interim life safety measures (ILSM), and infection prevention standards.
  • Provide clear and consistent reporting to senior leadership.
