About The Position

The Comptroller of Maryland is seeking a Project Manager to plan, execute and close IT projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, budget constraints, and timelines so projects meet requirements and deliver value. The duties and expectations of the project manager include but are not limited to: Leading interdisciplinary teams, managing project scopes, mitigating risks, and managing contractors or vendors, drafting RFPs. Managing the procurement lifecycle, and reporting to stakeholders. Famliarity with formal project management methodologies and with the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Have strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills. Experienced with project management software. PLEASE NOTE: Please note, resumes will not be accepted in lieu of completed applications. Also, ITD is responsible for the 24x7x365 support for ADC mainframe, distributed systems, and networks. All ITD employees are available for on-call support. As such, this position is required to occasionally work an off-hour schedule, weekdays prior to 7:30 a.m. and / or after 5:00 p.m., weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of project management experience leading/overseeing IT-related projects.
  • Famliarity with formal project management methodologies and with the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Have strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Experienced with project management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with project management software for ex., MS Project, Planner, Planview or other project management software.
  • Project Manager certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience with multiple project methodologies
