About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager with a passion for driving results to join our high-performing Energy Practice team. In this role, the project manager will plan, direct and execute various sized projects to support our Renewables and Advanced Nuclear Department. AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States. Our team provides a wide range of services across markets sectors including interconnections support, renewable generation (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Terrestrial Wind), power distribution (EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), next generation energy (fuel cells, etc.) as well as advanced nuclear. This includes being a part of the first-of-a-kind program with AECOM partners advancing the innovative stellarator technology to the world. https://aecom.com/press-releases/aecom-establishes-partnership-with-type-one-energy-to-provide-design-engineering-services-for-its-innovative-stellarator-fusion-power-plant-infinity-two/ We seek a project professional able to manage the design process from the project basis of design stage through the issuance of deliverables, ensuring seamless coordination between internal and external stakeholders. This position requires a strong understanding of engineering design, interconnection, utility markets, and construction processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to lead matrixed design teams and manage client-approved engineering consultants. DCS—Energy AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Requirements

  • BS/BA +2 years of relevant renewables experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Project Management experience directly related to renewable engineering projects
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex projects and/or programs with high quality on schedule and within scope and budget.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Professional Engineering Licensure (PE)
  • +8 Years total of relevant experience, including project management and engineering of renewables
  • Experience in managing projects worked in collaborative model environments (e.g. Navisworks)
  • Proficiency in schedule development including utilization of software applications but also competence to identify predecessor data needs and interdependencies.
  • Proven ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with facilitating design reviews
  • Demonstrated success working in a remote team environment

Responsibilities

  • Use their strong working knowledge of electric utilities and power generation to manage the full life cycle of projects.
  • Be responsible for design, permitting, construction, community engagement, and establishing/achieving critical project milestones.
  • Utilize your strong interpersonal, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills, to collaborate and lead project stake holders.
  • Work closely with the Project Team to confirm deliverables and services are being provided to exceed client’s satisfaction. This includes coordination with team members across the world.
  • Identify project opportunities early and facilitate go/no-go decisions, determine project fees, write proposals, prepare and lead client presentations, and negotiation of contracts.
  • Support development and maintenance of business plan; lead and support proposal efforts to support profitable growth.
  • Enjoy building teams, capturing new work, and growing Client relationships.
  • Take ownership of internal project financials, staffing, legal coordination, and risk management.
  • Be results-oriented with strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Enjoy managing projects that vary in size and complexity in multiple locations.
