About The Position

Aptive seeks an experienced Program Manager to support the senior level officials at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Project Manager provides senior-level program management and coordination for enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-priority projects directed by VHA leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and supporting the execution of initiatives that reduce organizational variability, enhance operational effectiveness, and improve delivery of care. The Project Manager works closely with senior leadership to establish structured intake processes for new initiatives, prioritize efforts, and ensure disciplined execution across multiple concurrent projects.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree and certification in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP)).
  • 10 years of experience in program management in planning, initiating, managing, executing, and closing out programs in support of an integrated health care system.
  • Six years of experience supporting a large corporation or government agency
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • Legal authorization to work the in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining executive-level dashboards, tracking tools, and reporting mechanisms that provide real-time visibility into project status, risks, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Producing Green/Yellow/Red status reports, managing integrated project plans, and delivering data-driven insights to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Coordination of planning and execution activities, preparation of executive briefings, and maintenance of visual management boards and portfolio-level reporting to ensure transparency and accountability across all senior leadership-led initiatives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders across VHA offices to support implementation of strategic initiatives, monitor performance, and proactively manage risks and issues.
  • Ensuring alignment of projects with enterprise priorities, facilitating communication between leadership and execution teams, and supporting continuous improvement of processes and tools used to manage the portfolio.
