About The Position

Manages the overall project direction, completion and financial outcome and administers both the owner and subcontractor relationships for assigned projects. Utilizes experience in software programs including: Bluebeam Revu, Oracle P6, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office & Procore used for scope, schedule, and cost management of the project. Utilizes expertise in management and execution of resiliency projects (i.e. flood mitigation projects). Works with preconstruction team to plan projects for success by undertaking procurement, constructability reviews, scope reviews, budgeting, and costing exercises. Prepares and executes trade contracts and bid packages, as well as manages the entire procurement process for the construction project. Performs value engineering exercises with the aim of improving project efficiency and cost. Responsible for establishing an integrated project logistics plan for complex healthcare, infrastructure, institutional and higher education projects. Establishes Interim Life Safety (ILS) measures and performs Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) to ensure the healthcare construction project advances with minimal risk and/or impact to the operations of the healthcare facility. Prepares and executes Project Execution Plan. Presents project schedule, cost and scope performance to the Skanska executive team. Manages and resolves design issues and conflicts with the architect and engineer of record. Manages the design process and relationships between design and construction to ensure the designer delivers quality, budget conscious, and complete documents on schedule. Leads and manages mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection trade coordination and clash detection exercises with the aim of producing a coordinated project model. Creates documentation such as RFIs and client correspondence on issues related to the notification provisions in contracts. Reads and understands construction plans and drawings and the technical specifications associated with drawings. Outlines specifications required for submission to client and ensuring submittals are approved. Reviews inspection and test data for compliance with project specifications. Creates and validates financial forecasts of costs for upcoming activities and projects. Analyzes client needs and applies market knowledge to determine business growth opportunities. Develops and oversees the implementation of strategies and action plans to target and pursue additional business with existing clients and new business opportunities. Demonstrates commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through own actions and mentoring others and enforcing IFE-Care for Life programs on projects. Creates the Skanska QA/QC plan and holds the team responsible for adherence. Holds the subcontractors responsible for their QA/QC program. Responsible for directing and mentoring all company personnel and resources assigned to the project. Responsible for the mentorship of interns, Project Engineers, Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and Assistant Project Managers.

Requirements

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related.
  • Must have 7 years of experience in project engineer or project management positions within the construction industry.
  • Must have 3 years of experience performing the following: Utilizing experience in active aviation infrastructure Managing subcontractor relationships. Utilizing experience in large healthcare and design-build infrastructure construction projection. Managing complex building envelope scopes of work (specific to roofing, exterior cladding, and curtain wall). Developing QA/QC plans. Utilizing experience working with flood barriers.
  • Must have 1 year of experience in managing and delivering more than $50 million in work.
  • Must hold LEED Green Associate Certification.
  • Must hold a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
  • Must hold a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
