About The Position

The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate research and programmatic activities within Dr. Wei’s research group, ensuring the effective execution of projects funded by federal agencies (non-defense-related) and state sponsors. This position plays a key role in advancing the group’s research portfolio by managing ongoing programs, supporting proposal development, and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration across LSU.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Three (3) years of demonstrated project management experience, preferably in federally funded research environments

Nice To Haves

• PhD.
• Five (5) years of demonstrated project management experience, preferably in federally funded research environments.
• Strong experience with proposal development and federal agency submission processes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and work collaboratively across academic and administrative units.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of NSF- and state-funded research projects to ensure timely execution, compliance, and reporting.

• Lead and coordinate the development and submission of competitive research proposals to federal agencies and other sponsors.
• Facilitate the creation of new research initiatives aligned with emerging funding opportunities. Organize strategic meetings, workshops, and planning activities to support research growth and program expansion.
• Identify and cultivate collaboration opportunities with faculty, industry, and academic units across LSU.
• Other duties as assigned.
