About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings seeks Project Managers. The Project Managers will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating construction. The selected candidates will assist with a portfolio of capital design or construction projects throughout the five boroughs. The Project Managers will be assigned projects at various stages of design and construction, and will be the key contact throughout the scoping, design, and construction procurement phase. The Project Managers will utilize the agency's technical resources to ensure that their projects meet DDC's Commitment Plan objectives and follow up on completion schedules. The Project Managers will also apprise Sr. Project Managers of scheduling, construction, and design issues; keep costs within budget; liaise between contractors, DDC and sponsor agencies; maintain comprehensive project history files; coordinate project schedules; review projects; address construction and design issues; prepare change orders, project correspondence, and reports.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work.
  • A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience in project management work.
  • A combination of experience and/or college education to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience.

Responsibilities
