About The Position

Our Parsons Corona, California office in greater Los Angeles is now hiring for an experienced Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to manage and oversee various Caltrans projects in the greater Los Angeles area and region, as well as various projects around California. This role offers flexible local hybrid remote working (meaning ability to work from home 2-3 days per week). The role is based in our Corona, California office.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • 12 years or more of experience in design/project management of major road and highway projects.
  • Experience with Caltrans projects supporting major freeway projects is highly desirable.
  • PE license active in the State of California is required.
  • Demonstrated experience serving in a role of project management on major road and highway projects.

  • State and Federal processes and procedures, as well as a thorough knowledge and understanding of industry practices.
  • Experience with major road and highway projects in any US State.
  • Experience with Caltrans projects in California is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership and management capability is also required, as well as good written and oral communications skills.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the overall planning of the project development activities to identify critical milestones and priorities, supporting various road & highway and rail/transit projects in California.
  • Verifies budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined project scope and schedule.
  • Monitors progress and reports to senior management on issues that may delay project schedules.
  • Oversees the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals.
  • Keeps alert to possible problem areas and takes preventative action to ensure that critical milestones are met for each phase of the project.
  • Ensures the use of sound engineering and construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
  • Prepares periodic reports summarizing progress of project development activities for management.
  • Ensures effective implementation of all Caltrans policies and procedures, including labor relations policies.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with Caltrans and project stakeholders to advance project progress.
