About The Position

The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of Transportation Engineering project delivery including contracts, budget, schedule, design production, quality and client communications. They are also responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of team members to achieve project objectives.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in relevant field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience
  • Professional license or certification required
  • Familiarity with transportation engineering projects and procedures for clients including IDOT and Illinois municipalities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good client relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day activities for projects of varying complexity and works with the major stakeholders for the project that will influence its progress and cost
  • Manages review and approval for invoices and contractor pay estimates
  • Manages development of project deliverables and advises and oversees the project team
  • May assist with preparation of project deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, and construction cost estimates
  • Applies experience with various Federal, State, and local Municipal and County level requirements and regulations to keep project on schedule and inform the Client and team of project requirements
  • Trains, supervises, and allocates company resources for projects
  • Spearheads the various activities within the project and allocates the available external and internal resources with assistance from other members of the team
  • Coordinates with other disciplines and designers to reach agreement about designs and to achieve project goals
  • Implements QC/QA review for projects
  • Prepares proposals for new work, and develops project scope, schedule and budget
  • Interacts with clients and represents the company at external functions
  • Reviews and conducts presentations for Clients
  • Leads resolution of construction related issues, disputes, and disagreements
  • Some travel may be required
