This role requires associates to work out of a MVH North America hub location – Vancouver, WA | Santa Monica, CA | New York, NY Why This Role Matters: The Project Manager, Transformation plays a crucial role in the successful planning, execution, and completion of transformation projects across Mars Veterinary Health. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, and the ability to effectively partner and coordinate with cross-functional and cross-banner teams and vendors. They will partner with the Strategic Reinvention Office PMO in driving the complete life cycle of complex projects including approvals, planning, risk identification & mitigation, to ensure delivery of projects on time, with high quality.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience, with 3+ years of experience managing projects.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred in Business Administration (with or without a health focus), Health Administration/Management, Communication, Psychology, Sociology, Informatics or Health Information Management, or a combination of education, training and experience to provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Required: Experience working with geographically distributed teams working across several time zones.
  • Required: Experience working with large scale, multi-team projects.
  • Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Required: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Required: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address project issues and risks effectively. Ability to make informed decisions and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Required: Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Required: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, priorities, and technologies. Ability to thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications.
  • Preferred: Previous Mars Veterinary Health experience.

Responsibilities

  • Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
  • Manage the work plan and track progress for multiple projects and initiatives, including following up with the team to ensure periodic updates (e.g., daily, bi-weekly, etc.).
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Deliver on projects and initiatives, to agreed scopes, budgets and timetables.
  • Prioritize project resources, contractors, cost and timelines according to plan to ensure on time and within budget delivery.
  • Remove impediments to team progress either directly or by partnering with the SRO PMO to find the right Associate or team to remove the impediment.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, techniques and existing SRO measures. Make appropriate recommendations based on results.
  • Continuously identify, track and bring to resolution project/program risk, issues, actions, and decisions, assessing their impact and elevating to key stakeholders and leadership to guarantee project/program deliverables are met.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional and cross-banner partners and stakeholders.
  • Partner with SRO PMO as necessary to manage the relationship with upper leadership.
  • Create and possibly present project communication visuals to sponsors, leaders and other key stakeholders for each phase of the project, as well as weekly status reports (or on the cadence contracted with sponsors and SRO PMO.
  • Create, collate and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Partner with change management and communications resources.
  • Identify and anticipate the need for conflict resolution between project team members, facilitate conflict resolution and rapidly escalate to SRO PMO if resolution requires further intervention.
  • Help the team to continually evolve the process, seeking improvements and greater efficiency.
