Manages projects and assigned staff of varying size, scope and impact from single business units up to multi-component projects with high value and organizational visibility within large divisions and departments. The ideal candidate will have the combination of education, work experience, skills, and traits to effectively manage multi-component projects and/or data sets and processes of large size and high project and program value ($20 million and higher) that have high organizational visibility, impact and risk at the County level. Experience with water utilities, public works, government and/or other public-sector projects is a strong plus. Experience with emergency projects and/or knowledge of various CIP project delivery methods including, but not limited to, construction manager at risk (CMAR), is a strong plus. This individual will demonstrate expertise in working with stakeholders to outline project and data project goals, scope, deliverables, resources, budget and timing; as well as developing and implementing recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated occurrences. They should exhibit excellent ability to use considerable initiative, think independently, and exercise sound judgment. They should be experienced with working cross-functionally (e.g., Department and Division Directors, Operations, Maintenance, Planning, CIP Project Managers, Fiscal, Contracts, Procurement, Legal) to solve problems and implement changes. They should be proficient with developing and presenting project documentation and reports.
