The ideal candidate for the Construction Project Manager is a technically proficient and results-driven professional with experience managing the design and construction of capital improvement projects within a utility environment. The candidate should have hands‑on experience overseeing the full lifecycle of projects from design through construction within water, wastewater, or reclaimed water systems. This role leads multi‑component pipeline replacement and extension projects, often exceeding $20 million in value, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals. The successful candidate will possess working knowledge of capital project development, design coordination, construction management, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, safety, and risk management. Responsibilities include managing design work orders utilizing continuing engineering consultant contracts; conducting plans review to ensure constructability and adherence to design standards; and coordinating internal project feedback to design teams. The position serves as the primary point of contact for Infrastructure Maintenance projects and supports projects ranging from single business units to highly visible, multi-disciplinary efforts. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. The ideal candidate effectively communicates technical and project information verbally and in writing, collaborates across divisions and departments, and exercises independent judgment to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with operational needs. Proficiency with project management tools, document control systems, and standard office software is required.
