About The Position

The Project Manager (Technical) is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of new-build and refurbishment projects across the Virgin Voyages fleet within predetermined budget, schedules, and other specifications. This individual will liaise closely with multiple teams and supervise contractors and other service providers, helping them meet timelines by creating and managing project plans, gathering requirements, identifying cross-department dependencies and working on adhoc project initiatives as the needs arise. This individual will work closely with business partners and management to ensure that the scope and direction of each project meets the company’s goals. This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • 8-10 years of experience successfully managing multiple projects in parallel
  • Cruise industry experience required
  • Exceptional verbal, written, listening & presentation skills
  • Available to travel up to 50%
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed
  • Solution-oriented, optimistic attitude and high level of energy
  • At your best working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Resilience for changing priorities and strong influencing skills
  • Knowledge and experience of key business tools (MS Office, Google Suite, MS Project, Visio) a must

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management certification preferred
  • Shipyard / Dry Dock experience preferred
  • experience with Smartsheets / Airtable a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as middle point between key business stakeholders, project teams, and support staff to ensure project is on track and in accordance with original plan
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant parties and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Create and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies and proactively monitor progress
  • Facilitate effective communication between all involved parties and ensure information is accurate
  • Build and circulate reports to regularly communicate project progress to land and sea-based leadership teams
  • Create and develop clear, comprehensive presentations using Google Suite to distribute and present to land and sea-based leadership teams
  • Track attendance and completion of action items for meeting attendees
  • Cultivate successful relationships with contractors and vendors in order to proactively resolve any issues
  • Make certain that all projects are completed and documented in compliance with applicable safety, environmental requirements as defined by appropriate regulatory agencies and company policies
  • Take part in / perform on-site technical inspections during shipyard and dry dock operations
  • Assist in statutory compliance and classification inspections as needed
