The Team Lead Project Manager is responsible for leading the execution and delivery of construction and energy projects while mentoring and supporting a team of Project Managers and Project Coordinators. This role ensures project safety, financial performance, schedule adherence, quality, and customer satisfaction, while providing hands-on leadership and technical guidance across a portfolio of MEP and energy-related projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial/industrial MEP, HVAC, electrical, controls, or energy construction
  • Experience leading project teams and managing complex projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office, and related tools
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all projects
  • Partner with Safety leadership to ensure regulatory and company compliance
  • Conduct site safety reviews and support corrective actions
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication
  • Provide project updates and resolve issues related to scope, schedule, or vendors
  • Oversee assigned projects for compliance with contracts, specifications, and company standards
  • Support Project Managers with planning, materials, subcontractors, and risk mitigation
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, revenue, and gross margins
  • Support subcontractor negotiations and change order management
  • Review and approve project financial documentation
  • Oversee schedules, submittals, commissioning, and closeout activities
  • Ensure timely completion of as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and owner training
  • Mentor and support Project Managers and Coordinators in: Cost control and billing Quality and customer management Commissioning coordination Final inspections and project closeout
  • Assist with estimating when needed
  • Participate in internal and client meetings
  • Travel to project sites as required (up to ~50%)
