About The Position

Our Engineering Services team is continuing to grow resulting in a need to add a Project Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of substation design projects, from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's specifications. This role involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, and structural engineers, as well as interfacing with clients, vendors, and contractors. The Project Manager ensures compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NERC, NEC), safety regulations, and company quality protocols while driving project profitability and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of substation design or engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience
  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Minimum Associate's degree; Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
  • Understanding of electrical substation design, engineering, and construction

Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and initial budget proposals
  • Define scope, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives
  • Lead cross-functional teams (P&C, Station, and Quality Assurance), including engineers, designers, and drafters, assigning tasks and ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns, and presenting progress updates
  • Identify potential risks (technical, financial, scheduling) and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track as well as relaying potential resultant changes (e.g., scope change, milestone date delay) to customer
  • Collaborate with engineering team to ensure substation designs meet technical standards, project goals, and client preferences
  • Manage multiple projects and stakeholders under tight deadlines
  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of projects in varying size and complexity
  • Work within the department to develop and implement best practices and supporting tools to improve efficiency
  • Work safely in and around energized substations
  • Willingness to travel to project sites or client meetings as needed (travel approximately 10% of the time)
