About The Position

RK&K is seeking a talented Project Manager in Structural Engineering to join our growing team in Pennsylvania. With an expanding portfolio of exciting projects and new opportunities across the state, now is a great time to be part of our dynamic and forward-moving firm.   As a member of our Structures team in our Pittsburgh office, you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation and participating in projects across Pennsylvania and within RK&K's overall service area. You should have PennDOT experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands-on experience with bridge design and field operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Ten (10) or more years of bridge design experience
  • Excellent communication skills including proposal development
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Pennsylvania
  • Experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), PennDOT Districts 10-0, 11-0, 12-0, the City of Pittsburgh, and Allegheny County

  • Masters degree in Structural Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead our structural design and engineering group in western Pennsylvania with development and delivery of structural assignments
  • Participate in Business Development and Marketing to secure future clients and workload
  • Provide structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the project
  • Serve as Project Manager on a variety of structure related projects
  • Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans 
  • Direct project staff and sub-consultants
  • Serve as liaison between client and firm
  • Execute QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work
  • Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field
  • Hire, train, and mentor entry level and junior level structural engineers
