Make an impact that matters. Be Team AAFP. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking a Project Manager to lead cross-divisional, strategic initiatives using agile ways of working. This role acts as a strategic partner to teams, establishing clear structures and workflows, anticipating needs, and proactively moving work forward between meetings. The PM will own agile delivery cadences (backlog planning, sprint planning, daily standups), leverage Jira and Confluence for transparency, and bring forward options and recommendations to help teams make decisions and maintain momentum.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years’ work experience in project management or a closely related role.
  • Experience with Project Management Tools: Proficiency in using project management software such as Microsoft Teams or Jira is highly desirable. Familiarity with these tools can streamline project planning, task tracking, and collaboration among team members.
  • Strong Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels is crucial.
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution, contribute to a positive team dynamic and project success.
  • Budgeting: Knowledge of budgeting principles and experience in managing project budgets is advantageous. This includes tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and optimizing resource allocation to ensure projects remain within budget constraints.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in managing multiple projects at once.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills are required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as PMP or Lean Six Sigma are valuable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of high-priority cross-divisional projects to ensure alignment with AAFP’s strategic objectives.
  • Act as a strategic partner anticipating needs, framing issues, and proposing options and recommendations.
  • For designated agile projects: maintain and prioritize the backlog; plan and facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Use Jira and Confluence to organize work, track progress and decisions, and provide transparency across divisions.
  • Between meetings, proactively move work forward: review project materials weekly; surface blockers/risks early and bring recommended next steps.
  • Establish clear structures (cadence, agendas, roles/RACI, workflows); provide concise, structured updates to leadership on status, dependencies, and risks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
