About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and highly skilled stormwater Professional Engineer to join our growing team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of experience in the design and management of stormwater improvements, including culverts, storm drain systems, detention facilities, water quality features, and stream restoration/stabilization.
  • Strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, scour analyses, erosion and sediment control planning, and environmental permitting.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard hydraulic and hydrologic software such as HEC-RAS, SRH-2D/SMS, HEC-HMS, CUHP, SWMM, StormCAD, culvert/open channel design tools, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable stormwater design software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and guide teams in producing high-quality, clear, and concise drawings and specifications.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and identify critical paths for successful project delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working with Mile High Flood District (MHFD) and other Front Range jurisdictions in Colorado.
  • A desire to continuously grow both personally and professionally while contributing to meaningful, client-focused design solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction observation experience.
  • Experience providing or overseeing construction engineering oversight services.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent additional professional experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado, or ability to obtain through reciprocity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee design of improvements such as river and stream restoration/stabilization measures, culverts, storm drains, detention facilities, and water quality features.
  • Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, geomorphic evaluations, scour analyses, and environmental permitting.
  • Oversee and assist in the preparation of studies, reports, construction drawings and details, specifications, and construction costs for a wide variety of design and planning projects.
  • Oversee construction engineering oversight services.
  • Prepare detailed project work scopes, fee estimates, and design schedules.
  • Guide project teams, support staff, and subconsultants to successfully complete a variety of projects.
  • Deliver high quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead marketing efforts in securing new work.
  • Nurture long-term client relationships.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support project and team success.
