We are an employee-owned company with growth opportunities. We seek a highly skilled and motivated project manager to oversee and manage our I&C Projects within the Oil & Gas industry. Position Summary As a project manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented engineers and designers and ensuring the successful execution of projects. This critical role requires strong leadership, project management, technical skills, and a fair understanding of instrumentation and controls discipline within the Oil & Gas sector.

Requirements

  • Education: a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with three years focusing on control system projects.
  • Project Management: Track record of successfully leading and managing I&C projects from conception to completion.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software (P6 is preferred)
  • Cost, RFI, CO, Schedule report development

  • Technical: Technical knowledge of control system engineering in the Oil & Gas sector is preferred.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and end-users. Strong documentation skills to create clear and concise project reports.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities. Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and explore new tools and methodologies.

  • Project management experience in refinery projects, especially Marathon, is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead and manage the complete lifecycle of I&C projects, from initial planning and scoping to execution, commissioning, and handover. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards.
  • Client Ownership and Project Oversight: serve as the primary client contact throughout the life of each project. This role requires a strong understanding of the client’s expectations and work processes. The ideal candidate knows how to stay on top of every workflow tied to the client’s own processes so nothing slips through the cracks. They should be comfortable translating client expectations into action plans and making sure the entire team stays aligned.
  • Budget Control: Oversee project budgets, develop reports & track costs, and ensure efficient resource allocation to optimize costs and achieve financial targets.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess knowledge of I&C scope and deliverables in the refining to lead/contribute to the development of:
  • Project Plan: Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, and risks. Proactively identify potential bottlenecks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers and operations personnel, to develop engineering solutions for projects.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure projects adhere to industry and client standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality assurance protocols.
  • Preparation of detailed engineering designs, specifications, and technical drawings.
