About The Position

The Project Manager, Sr. - Control Center Performance & Diagnostics is responsible for leadership, organization, and execution of Power Delivery control center projects and continuous improvement initiatives supporting the Reliability Control Center (RCC) organization. Leads business SMEs on upcoming control center technology projects, coordinates RCC portfolio of initiatives, assists with business case development, and supplements organizational change management (OCM). Acts as the strong team leader driving project repeatability in the execution of all work within the portfolio. Maintains the single point of accountability for project success. Collaborates closely with business subject matter experts, IT, and other supporting functions to deliver control center solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

  • Minimum education required of the position Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution in related field or equivalent work experience with BS in Engineering or Computer Science preferred. MBA desired
  • Minimum experience required of the position 7+ years’ professional experience. 5+ years’ experience with regulated electric or gas utilities. Formal or informal leadership experiences that demonstrate an ability to leverage knowledge, skills and abilities. Formal or informal experiences in project management, preferably in energy industry
  • Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Solid understanding of project management tools, principles, and methodologies Practical understanding of assets, infrastructure, tools, systems and processes used in distribution and/or transmission of electricity and/or gas Specific knowledge of Entergy's Capital Project Standard preferred Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively express ideas to groups and individuals Demonstrated ability to influence others without direct authority Understanding of Change, Configuration, and Risk Management principles and the ability to apply them Knowledge of Entergy's cost accounting processes and systems desirable Knowledge of Entergy's distribution and/or transmission processes and systems (or comparable utility) including new and emerging technologies desirable
  • Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination of Power Delivery control center projects and initiatives that support the RCC organization.
  • Develop, update, and implement the RCC roadmaps in partnership with Grid Technology and IT; provide periodic progress updates to RCC leadership, engage cross-team and cross-functional resources on specific initiatives, and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Leads technology project Business Readiness Team (BRT), navigating RCC subject-matter experts through software requirements, testing, organizational change management, and deployment readiness.
  • Manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules for control center technology initiatives and special projects, ensuring successful and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT Service Delivery Managers to coordinate subject matter experts, develop business cases, estimate costs, and prioritize IT project portfolios.
  • Engage with supporting organizations, such as Training, Grid Technology, and Information Technology, to leverage their expertise and resources.
  • Actively participate in electric industry forums, working groups, and task forces to advocate for Entergy's positions and stay informed of industry best practices.
  • Create and sustain a safe work environment at operations control centers.
  • Serves the Incident Command Structure during major events, providing support to the RCC organization and System Planning branch.
